The Story of An Ashtray

We are an ashtray, me and my three companions. Day in and day out we always do the same job, carry the same burden, suffer the same problems.

But my companions learned to accept their job and their practically happy about it. But I'm not, I feel I can be more that just an ashtray.

But what can I do at this point. Alas! I have to change my attitude. I know I'm sad right now, but I have the most out of it. Be the best of what I do today so that tomorrow is a hope for a better me - a better opportunity.

Laiya with Jolina

August 1 and 2, 2009

Nope, I am not with Jolina, the artist, last weekend. I was with the typhoon.

We went to Sabangan Beach resort in Laiya, Batangas together with my co-workers in Affiliated Computer Services. It was a usual-unusual trip, since I have never been to Laiya and the road leading to that place reminded me of my memories of the past work experience I had.

Going to Laiya, required me to drive along Lipa, my previous work place. Going back there after a couple of months reminded me of the fun times I've spent with Advanced Contact Solutions. Since, I was already there, I dropped by Corbells and met with old friends.

After wards, we headed towards San Juan leading to Laiya. To my surprise, the last leg was off road!!! Damn, I should've drove my Xtrail instead.

And then there was Sabangan resort, I humble place in between Blue Coral and Acquatico. The place was very good. The amenities were complete and the staff were nice. At a reasonable price of 12500 per loft that would accomodate 16 people, that was already reasonable and customary.

The moment we dropped, beer and tequilla were all over the place already and we drank until 5am the next day, which means I have never had a good sleep for 48 hours!!! But it was all worth it. I was able to get to know my co-workers on a personal level.

It was time well spent but we could've stayed a bit longer. But then again, I am sure this would not be the last.
